In a recent interview with Bloomberg, Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella made some interesting statements. In particular, he told about the number of users of the Windows ecosystem and once again expressed his position regarding smartphones and the likelihood that Microsoft will again compete with Google and Apple in the mobile market.

During the conversation, Satya Nadella said that now devices on Windows are used by about 1 billion people. Representatives of Bloomberg were extremely interested in this figure, because in 2014, Microsoft announced that personal computers on Windows are used by 1.5 billion people, and in 2011 their number was 1.25 billion.

According to the head of Microsoft, the number of Windows users in recent years has decreased significantly. Nadella noted that although the OS remains an important product for Microsoft, now the corporation has several other important profile areas related to each other.

However, after an official request to Microsoft, reporters were informed that the number of Windows users reached about 1.5 billion people worldwide.

Therefore, it is not clear whether Satya Nadella confused the data or accidentally called the real numbers.

Also, Nadella once again stated that they intend to reinvent and re-invent the product categories. As an example, the head of the corporation brought a helmet of mixed reality HoloLens. At the same time, Microsoft is not obsessed with popular categories like smartphones, which means it is not worth waiting for the smartphone's immediate release from the Redmond people.
