Oracle announced the eighth generation of server platforms Sparc. The company claims that the novelty provides a new level of security, performance and availability for mission-critical workloads of customers.

Systems with Sparc M8 processors, including optimized hardware and software systems Oracle SuperCluster M8, Sparc T8 and M8 servers, are designed to effectively integrate with existing IT infrastructures and include fully integrated virtualization and management tools for private clouds.

According to the developers, Oracle equipment on Sparc processors outperforms Intel-based systems by about 2-7 times in terms of performance, efficiency and security. When analyzing databases, the processor processes seven times as many requests per minute (QPM) per core as the chip on the x86 architecture.

It is also noted that Sparc M8 provides twice the best performance of Java, than x86, and 1,3 times ahead of microprocessors M7. Accelerators Analytic Data Analytics Accelerators (DAX) of the second generation perform eight times more efficient Java processing, improving overall application performance.

"Sparc has already established itself as the world's fastest, most secure processor for working with Oracle Database and Java. Sparc M8 continues and strengthens these leading positions, "- said the chief corporate architect of Oracle Edward Screwven (Edward Screven).
