Seagate Technology, a well-known manufacturer of storage devices, and Chinese Internet giant Baidu announced a strategic cooperation agreement.

The contract extends to information technology, analytics of large data, as well as storage systems of huge volumes of information.

The signed document updates the existing agreement between the companies, which was achieved in September 2014. It is noted that Baidu will give preference to Seagate products when choosing storage devices and related systems.

In turn, Seagate will provide Baidu with enhanced access to its hardware solutions, services and support. In addition, Seagate will form a separate team of specialists who will deal with issues related to the interests of the Chinese giant.

In the framework of cooperation, in particular, the parties will work together to develop customized data storage systems in accordance with the business model Baidu.

We also add that Baidu uses enterprise-class Seagate drives as part of its data centers and cloud platforms.
