The prototype of the completely fanless building Calyos NSG S0 with passive cooling of all key components of the system was warmly received by the visitors of Computex 2017, and the corresponding campaign on Kickstarter quickly, in just 30 hours, collected the necessary amount. More recently, developers announced the launch of the serial production of Calyos NSG S0 and now its characteristics are no longer a secret. This is a fairly massive body with a side panel of tempered glass and huge radiator sections for removing heat from the CPU and graphics card. Its dimensions are 537 ? 495 ? 276 mm, and the weight without installed components almost reaches 10 kg.
Earlier it was not clear, but now it is known that in the new case it is possible to install system boards of the form factor E-ATX, which is not so often found in the market of cases. The aluminum chassis allows you to place video cards up to 279 mm in length and a standard ATX power supply (preferably with passive cooling, otherwise the whole concept loses its meaning). There are mounting places for five 3.5 "or 2.5" drives, but if passive cooling is not enough, these seats can become mounting points for fans with a diameter of 120 mm. The video card is positioned vertically and is connected to the motherboard by a flexible cable. As previously announced, the Calyos NSG S0 has two independent cooling circuits based on the phase transition effect. The evaporators are arranged in such a way that the circulation of the coolant is provided by the capillary effect.
They are supplemented by expansion tanks. With the help of heat pipes this part of the circuit is connected to high-pressure evaporators for the processor and graphics core.
It is stated that in fully passive mode this system is able to dissipate up to 475 watts of thermal energy without problems, but its capabilities can be increased by installing fans. The support of AMD TR4 / AM4 / AM3 + / FM2 + / FM1 and Intel LGA 2011 / 2011-3 platforms, LGA 115x, LGA 775 and even LGA 1366. When ordering, you must specify the type of connector you need and the required processor module will be included in the package. Those who ordered the body earlier, it will cost $ 575, but now it will have to pay $ 675. Customers will receive the first installment of Calyos NSG S0 in December.
