Apple officially explained the reason for the strange moment at the presentation of the new iPhone X, during which the device required a password instead of just removing the lock through the Face ID Face Scanner. It turned out that the protective function worked.
After several unsuccessful face detection attempts, you must enter a password that only the owner of the device needs to know. The same system of protection is available in the current iPhone with a fingerprint reader ID Touch - if the device is trying to unlock someone else, or the owner's finger is not read, iPhone suggests entering a password. Before the presentation, the test device took in the hands of many people. The gadget automatically scanned them, but did not recognize the top manager Craig Federigi, whose face the technology worked on.
In a statement Apple said that other employees of the company, taking the iPhone X in their hands, did not think that the system immediately scans them. Not recognizing the owner, the system worked, as it should - I asked for a password. Federigi clearly did not expect this, but quickly navigated in the situation, immediately taking another iPhone X.
Apple's flagship smartphone has lost a fingerprint scanner. Now to protect the information on the device uses the technology Face ID, which scans the owner's face. On sale iPhone X will appear on November 3, the 64GB version is estimated in the US at $ 999.
