The new program "wifi4eu", for which the European Parliament voted, will provide Europeans with free Internet, writes DW.

This is allocated more than 120 million euros, such investments will allow the installation of wireless Internet terminals in 6-8 thousand European settlements.

The purpose of the program - to cover the Internet primarily sparsely populated regions. Wi-Fi will appear in parks, hospitals, museums, schools, as well as in public transport.

The use of free Internet for citizens will be simplified as much as possible: it will be enough only to register once and then use the "wifi4eu" points throughout the EU. According to plans, the wireless Internet terminals within the program will start operating in 2018.
