The founder of the telegram messenger Pavel Durov announced that, contrary to American laws on providing information to the authorities, he will continue to protect the privacy of correspondence of users of the service. He wrote about this in his telegram channel Durov's Channel.

"I know that one day it can cause trouble, as it happened in the past when I lived in Russia. But this is the only way for me to continue to live, not regretting anything, now or later, "writes Durov.

He notes that cases when the pressure of the US authorities on the IT company becomes public, are rare. Durov writes that "privacy-oriented" companies in the US ignore information about the pressure on them from the state, for fear of an interdiction.

The founder of Telegram noted that Google and Apple, on whose mobile operating systems the services depend, are also based in the US.

"I want some great companies such as Apple and Google one day to become independent of any government," he hoped..

Earlier in September, in an interview with the American resource The Baffler Durov said that in May 2016, the FBI tried to bribe the developer of Telegram, who came to the Google conference. He was interrogated at the border, and then offered $ 10,000 for creating a channel through which he would transmit the necessary information about Telegram.
