Researchers from MalwareHunterTeam warned of a new form of fraud, victims of which are owners of crypto-currency wallets. Scammers convince the user to install the Bitcoin Doubler application, which promises to double the balance of the crypto currency in his account if he provides the private key of his bitcoin-purse. As you know, to access the content of the wallet you only need a private key.

How many people became victims of fraud, difficult to determine. It is not excluded that nobody was caught by the bait of cybercriminals.

Nevertheless, despite the obvious "divorce", some naive users can believe in the wonderful features of the application and pass their private keys to scammers, according to MalwareHunterTeam.

According to Virus Total, at present most antivirus solutions do not detect Bitcoin Doubler as malware. As the experts explained, the application does not show any harmful activity. The program does not download malicious code to the victim's system and does not perform any other attacks, but only requests the user for the private key of his crypto-currency purse.
