Apple has developed a new way of authentication without having to enter a password. The innovation, which is implemented in the "smart" column HomePod, will allow it to interface with the iPhone by reading the audio signal. This in a personal microblogging reported the developer Guillermo Rambo, famous for his close study of firmware audioOS.

According to Rambo, in order to establish a connection between the column and the smartphone, the user will be offered two ways to verify the connection. About one of them we told you earlier. The other is for the speaker to play a special sound signal, which must be read by the microphone of the connected iPhone.

Of course, this method of pairing devices does not seem so innovative, if only because it will be usable only with the initial setting of HomePod.

Nevertheless, judging by the latest finds of developers, Apple is actively working to eradicate passwords with the subsequent replacement of their more breakthrough means of identification.

In particular, iOS 11 will feature a function that will quickly transfer settings from the old iPhone or iPad to a new one. To do this, you need to bring both gadgets to each other, and then scan the resulting image on the screen of the device being activated. Similarly, you can import personal data and keys to Mac computers.
