The new iPhone promises to be extremely interesting - if you believe the latest insides, the jubilee smartphone will receive a "frameless" display, wireless charging, a camera with augmented reality and much more. But who will buy it?.
Analysts at Piper Jaffray bank interviewed more than 400 users of "apple" smartphones to see if they will want to change their current smartphone to a novelty. The results are somewhat surprising: interest in upgrading, despite the whole "HYIP" around the iPhone 8, does not exceed similar figures for a rather boring iPhone 7.
Specifically, in 2016, 15% of those surveyed thought of buying the "seven". A year later, the possibility of moving to the iPhone 8 seriously consider 16%. Strictly speaking, this "increase" can be explained by the statistical error. And with the answer "maybe I'll go," things are completely bad - in 2017 27% of respondents "think" about an upgrade, whereas in 2016 there were even more - 29% (or again the error?).
People do not want to buy the iPhone 8 because they do not know about the upcoming "chips" of the novelty Experts Piper Jaffray believe that people are simply not up to date on the news:.
"The survey data suggests that: people's awareness that the iPhone's upgrade this year potentially will be more serious is relatively small".
It seems that users just lost faith in Apple's ability to do something really new. The last significant redesign of the iPhone fell on the distant by technological standards in 2014, when Apple first introduced two models of its smartphones with displays of diagonal 4.7 and 5.5 inches. After that, in the software and hardware sense, gadgets practically did not change.
But analysts and insiders believe that on September 12, Apple will finally show something interesting. The iPhone 8 (or iPhone X, or iPhone Edition) will lose the physical Home button, but it will get a "frameless" OLED display from edge to edge, identification on the user's face, a glass "back", AR camera and the ability to charge without connecting wires.
And, of course, analysts say nothing about the fact that the new iPhone will not get good sales.
As soon as information about its capabilities becomes available officially, there will be all chances for another sales record and the title "the most popular iPhone in history".
iPhone X, they say in Piper Jaffray, especially willing to buy the owners of the old iPhone, which 2 or more years. According to them, this is about 330 million people, and some of them, along with owners of newer devices, will switch to the iPhone 8.
"Our model suggests that within 12 months after the release of the iPhone X, Apple will sell approximately 242 million iPhones".
