France and Germany intend to prepare a joint project on the taxation of American Internet giants in order to make more "fair" payments to companies such as Google, Apple, Facebook and Amazon, France-Press reports referring to the statement of French Finance Minister Bruno Le Merard (Bruno Le Maire).
On the pages of social networks Facebook, he said that at the next meeting of finance ministers, which will be held in Tallinn in mid-September, France together with Germany will present a new plan for taxation of Google, Apple, Facebook and Amazon.
"We propose to take as a starting point the revenue of these large companies, and proceeding from it, determine the level of taxation. Thus, companies will pay the proper amount to the treasury of each country where they make money, "wrote Le Mare.
At the same time, the French Minister of Finance noted that similar proposals have already been made at the level of the European Union and the countries of the Organization for European Economic Cooperation (OECD), but without result.
"To date, negotiations on this issue have stalled," - acknowledged Le Mare.
American Internet giants are exposed in Europe to sharp criticism for the use of loopholes in complex tax mechanisms to reduce payments. In particular, companies are trying to declare their income in the EU countries with the lowest tax rate, although most of the money is earned in other states of the European alliance.
