Deliveries of smart clothes and home sensors in several years can reach 119 million pieces, predicts the analytical company Tractica.

According to experts, sensors, clothing, footwear, accessories and individual on-board sensors that allow tracking the physiological or biometric indicators of the user and connecting to the Internet are the ideal type of wearable devices.

Gradually this promising ecosystem is being mastered by more and more manufacturers, as evidenced by the appearance on the market of smart headdresses, gloves, shoes, jeans and accessories. Most of all, the trend has affected sports equipment. Professionals and sports lovers are offered "t-shirts" with t-shirts, shorts, underwear, socks and sneakers that collect detailed biometric information about the owner, previously available only with the help of smart clocks and fitness bracelets.

As for the on-line sensors, the spheres of their use are mainly related to sports, and also to medicine.

In particular, doctors and pharmacists use sensors during clinical trials. With their help, more rapid and continuous data collection is provided.

In Tractica, it is predicted that shipments of "smart" clothing will grow from 1.7 million units in 2016 to 26.9 million units in 2022. The market of on-board sensors will be even larger: the sensor supplies will increase from 2.4 to 92.1 million units. In total, the two segments by the end of this period will bring the total revenue of $ 19 billion.
