In Chernivtsi, a cyber-fraudster was detained, who, by fraud, took possession of about 30 citizens.

This was reported in the press service of the National Police.

The offender placed in the network an announcement about renting out cottages for celebrating New Year holidays. For their booking, citizens were to transfer to the bank card 2,500 hryvnia. When the tenants came to the address indicated by the fraudster, the house that they "rented" they did not find. Thus, the attacker deceived citizens to the amount of about 200 000 hryvnas.

Operatives in the framework of the criminal proceedings started within seven months documented the criminal activity of the swindler and found that in addition to fraud, the person is also engaged in the sale of drugs.

At present, the detainee has been informed of the suspicion of committing an offense. 3 items. 190 and h. 2 items. 307 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine and a preventive measure in the form of detention. He faces up to ten years in prison.
