Chinese manufacturer of household appliances Midea plans to produce electrical appliances with a mining function. This is reported by the site dedicated to the production of the Crypto-currency website CoinDesk. The company Midea Group, one of the leading Chinese electronics manufacturers, decided to patent household appliances with a mining function as early as the end of 2016, for which it filed an application, but drew attention to it only now.
The manufacturer plans to equip all of its electronics with special chips designed for mining, so it may very well be that soon each house will have kettles, air conditioners and televisions capable of "mincing" in the background. In the description to the application it is said that the method of extracting crypto currency in this way includes three stages: connection of the device to the Network and authorization in a special cloud service, self-mining and storage of earned funds.
The idea is to be implemented in such a way that the mining process does not affect the basic functions of the device, so your kettle or microwave will extract the crypto currency in your free time.
"Such a function will increase the commercial value of consumer electronics, which can bring additional revenue to the owner," says the patent application.
The idea is pretty good, but whether it will be possible for the company to patent it - it is unclear. In addition, the manufacturer does not tell how much more expensive household appliances with installed specialized chips and software.
