In the mobile version of the Google search engine, it became possible to undergo a screening test to identify signs of depression. If the user in a depressed state asks about the meaning of the word "depression", he will be asked to fill in an anonymous health assessment questionnaire (PHQ-9).
PHQ-9 - a recognized in medicine test, assessing the severity of symptoms of emotional depression. Within the framework of the questionnaire, a person is asked how often he felt tired or weak in the last two weeks, showed indifference to the events, suffered from insomnia and lack of appetite, whether he had thoughts of suicide, or self-harm, and so on.
At the end of the test, a common score is formed, which may indicate that the interviewee is experiencing a mental disorder. Google, however, does not make a final diagnosis, but only provides background information and the opportunity to contact a specialist.
About the health of users cares not only search engine. For example, in the spring of the service "live" video broadcasts Facebook Live built a tool to prevent suicide. Computer algorithms in real time identify users who are visited by thoughts of suicide and offer them ways to get out of a difficult life situation.
And Instagram recently began offering psychological support to users if one of the subscribers expressed concern about the content of posts.
