Since the release of the operating system Windows 10, Microsoft is actively promoting the proprietary browser Edge. Over the past year, the Redmond Corporation has focused on low power consumption, and this year the developers' attention was shifted to speed and smooth operation. The other day, Microsoft said that in the upcoming Fall Creators Update for Windows 10, the Edge browser will start downloading sites much faster.

Microsoft claims that with the introduction of EdgeHTML 16 in the Fall Creators Update will be provided independent rendering for more sites, which will increase their productivity. This will be done by adding full support for the following three types of items:.

- "selective" management;.

-element "canvas";.

-Some svg-elements.

As a result, the company will be able to achieve performance improvements in various scenarios, including content processing, iterative operations, and scrolling through the rendering stream, even when the main thread is busy. Selecting rendering in a separate thread will also improve the efficiency of multi-core processors. With EdgeHTML 16, Microsoft also provides independent rendering support for some SVG elements, such as markers, masks and templates. As a result, sites that use these elements will load much faster.

Microsoft tested EdgeHTML 15 and EdgeHTML 16 on two identical Surface Book. The latter showed a speed increase of 43% due to independent rendering.
