In the second quarter of 2017, the three leading manufacturers of DRAM RAM for servers - Samsung, SK Hynix and Micron - nearly a third increased revenue from the sale of these products. The volume of the server DRAM market grew by 30.1% and in monetary terms amounted to $ 4.43 billion. The rise was observed against the backdrop of a rise in price of chips in conditions of the deficit remaining in the industry, analysts of DRAMeXchange.

Successful product planning and efficient use of production facilities ensured impressive results for the Samsung market leader. In April-June, the company's revenue from the sale of server DRAM increased by 36.5% quarter-on-quarter and reached 1.99 billion US dollars, which corresponds to almost 45% of the total amount.

Outstanding indicators were registered in SK Hynix: the company earned $ 1.38 billion on server DRAM sales, improving the previous result by 28.2%.

The market share of the vendor analysts estimated at 31.1%. At Micron, revenue from server DRAM increased by 22%, to $ 1.07 billion, taking into account that under its control was slightly more than 24% of the market.

Specialists also noted that SK Hynix and Micron have recently increased the production of server memory, reducing the production of other types of chips. According to analysts, SK Hynix server chips account for about 32% of its total DRAM product range, while Micron's ratio is close to 30%.
