Attackers appeared to be employees of the bank and asked the victims for the codes from their bank cards, after which they withdrew money.
Law enforcement officers arrested 42-year-old, 31-year-old and 30-year-old unemployed resident of Raisins. Two of them were previously convicted. This was reported in the press service of the State Unitary Enterprise of the Kharkiv region.
Attackers suspected of 40 crimes.
The police found that the suspects sent out SMS messages to the victims during the year, in which they reported that their bank cards had been blocked. Also, the message indicated the sequence of actions for unlocking maps.
When they were called by the victims, the cybercriminals were represented by bank employees, asked for personal information and codes of access to bank cards.
Then they transferred money from the cards of the victims to the accounts of frontmen. The suspects withdrew money and shared with each other. In addition, the police found that the crimes involved individuals who are in prison.
The investigator opened a criminal case on h. 3 items. 190 (fraud) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The suspects are in jail. Police officers establish damage caused to the injured. According to preliminary data, it is tens of thousands of hryvnia.
