Sony first released a laptop under the VAIO brand more than 20 years ago, since gaining a large army of fans. In 2014 the unit was bought by the Japanese company JIP and the manufacture of laptops was spent for a long break. Now VAIO held a conference in Beijing, where the manufacturer announced the return to the market and showed two new items: VAIO S13 and Z13.
The VAIO S13 weighs 1.06 kg and is equipped with a metal casing that combines polished and matt surfaces. On the left side of the Ultrabook is a charging port, air duct, two USB ports 3. 0 and a slot for the lock. On the right are additional USB 3. 0, HDMI, SD slot, Ethernet and VGA ports. The novelty is equipped with 13.3-inch Full HD-display, 8 GB of RAM, 256 GB of solid-state drive and is available in configurations with processors i5-6200U and i7-6500U.
VAIO Z13 differs from the "younger brother" with a thickness of 16.8 mm, weighing 1.17 kg and a display resolution: instead of Full HD, the laptop has a 2K matrix. The manufacturer states that the Z13 battery will last 12.5 hours from a single charge. In other respects the gadget repeats the specifications of VAIO S13.
VAIO S13 based on Core i5 costs about $ 1,420, and the version with Core i7 will cost $ 1,780. The top-of-the-range VAIO Z13 will sell for $ 1,989.
