Travis Kalanik will not return to the post of head of Uber. This was reported in his letter to co-founder Uber Garrett Camp.

Garrett Camp, co-founder of Uber:.

"The main priority of the board of directors is the search for a new leader. Time to start everything from scratch, finding the right leader for the next stage of development. Despite the rumors that I'm sure you saw in the news, Travis will not return to the role of head of the company. We are adamant in our decision to hire a new world-class CEO to guide Uber.

Camp's letter was a response to reports in the media that Kalanik was allegedly preparing the ground for returning to the chair of the company's general director. Thousands of Uber employees signed a petition requesting him to reinstate him.

According to the publication of Recode, Kalanik really announced his intention to return to the company, in private conversations calling it "a return on the model of Steve Jobs". We will remind, the co-founder of Apple in due time has been expelled from the company, but after 13 years has returned and has successfully rescued it from collapse.

In mid-June, Kalanik went on an "indefinite" leave because of an incident involving the tragic death of his mother. The personal tragedy of Kalanik occurred against the backdrop of a general decline in the company's reputation. Uber dismissed 20 employees as part of an internal investigation related to allegations of sexual harassment.

Later it became known that the departure of the former head of the company was connected with the demand for resignation by five major investors.
