According to tradition among Taiwanese manufacturers, MediaTek, which is one of the leading developers of mobile chips, reported revenue for the past month, according to DigiTimes.

In July 2017, MediaTek earned 18.97 billion Taiwan dollars (627.3 million US dollars). Compared to June, sales from the Taiwan chip maker fell by 13.4%, and in annual terms, the decline was almost 24%.

Since the beginning of 2017, MediaTek's consolidated revenues amounted to 133.13 billion Taiwan dollars (4.4 billion US dollars). This is 13.1% less than the company received in the same period of 2016.

Earlier in the second quarter of 2017, Mediatek reported the worst quarterly earnings for the last five-plus years and registered a 20 percent decrease in sales on an annualized basis.

Market observers expect that in August and September the chipmaker's financial indicators will improve and the monthly sales volume will rise again to more than 20 billion Taiwan dollars (over 622 million US dollars).

Forecast MediaTek itself provides that its revenue in July-September will increase by 2-10% over the previous three-month period and will fluctuate in the range of 59.2 to 63.9 billion Taiwan dollars (1.96-2.1 billion US dollars).
