In companies, the number of employees who are not ready for digital transformation. This conclusion was reached by specialists from the Technical University of Munich and the SAP software manufacturer on the basis of a survey that covered 116 representatives of organizations and IT leaders from 18 countries.

About 64% of the respondents said that employees of their companies do not have the necessary skills for successful digital transformation. In 2015, this indicator was measured at 53%.

As an explanation of this trend, the speed of the emergence of new technologies and the awareness of managers about digital transformation have grown. During this time, top managers also began to understand better what skills are necessary for their company, and the qualification of their own personnel, the report says.

It is interesting that 90% of the survey participants consider digital transformation important for the overall business strategy of their companies, but the purposeful development of skills to work with new technologies is still a rarity.

Only 16% of respondents reported establishing a recruitment or training program to prepare the skills base that are needed to form a digital future for their company.

"Never before has investment in education and training of employees been so important. The development of digital literacy of employees will make it possible to conduct a smooth transition to digital business transformation, "said Bernd Welz, executive vice president and director of education, products and innovations at SAP..
