Japanese technological corporation NEC has summed up the results of the first quarter of 2017 fiscal year, which will last for the company until March 31, 2018 calendar.
In the three-month period from April to June 2017, NEC registered an increase in revenue of 12.3% year-on-year, to 582.5 billion yen ($ 5.3 billion). The growth was mainly provided by the Public division, where the company provides systems integration, outsourcing and support services and supplies equipment for government institutions and social infrastructure, and Telecom Carrier Business, which is responsible for the production of equipment for telecom operators.
The net profit of NEC reached 7.8 billion yen ($ 70.6 million), an increase of almost 28%.
A year earlier, the company's loss was measured at 20.1 billion yen.
Also, the Japanese vendor reported a decrease in operating loss - losses decreased by 29.9% to 14.4 billion yen (130.4 million dollars).
Following the results of the current FYG, NEC predicts revenue growth of 5.1%, to 2.8 trillion yen ($ 25.4 billion). Operating and net profit of the company should increase by 8.2% and 2.7%, to 50 and 30 billion yen, respectively (453 and 272 million dollars).
