Inside Amazon formed secret laboratory, engaged in IT projects in the field of health. According to CNBC, the team under the symbol 1492 (the year when Christopher Columbus discovered America) is working on some projects related to medical hardware and software.

The new unit is located in Seattle, the channel said, citing informed sources. In particular, it is engaged in creating a platform for the collection and analysis of medical data that could import statistics from old accounting systems and provide it to patients and their physicians. Other areas of interest 1492 - telemedicine technologies for virtual consultations and applications for Amazon devices, including "smart" Echo and Dash Wand speakers.

Presumably, an electronic medical card for the iPhone, which will contain the most complete information about the state of human health, is developing and Apple.

The database will record not only fitness statistics, but lists of allergens, prescribed prescriptions and laboratory test data. Users will be able to dispose of this data as you like: share with doctors, provide hospitals, medical software developers and other third parties.

Amazon has begun to actively show interest in medicine since the spring of this year. In March, the company invested in Grail, a start-up that develops screening tests to determine early stages of cancer, and last week hired Missy Krasner, the former director of biomedical engineering at Box.
