The UK government intends to introduce a ban on selling cars with internal combustion engines from 2040. The ban will apply to hybrid cars, as they also use gasoline or diesel engines, said on Wednesday, July 26, the British media. On Wednesday, the official announcement of the British government on this issue is expected.

Experts believe that the demand for cars running on gasoline or diesel will significantly decrease in the coming years.

Despite the fact that the total share of cars with electric motors or hybrid motors is still low because of their high cost and limited power reserve, it is they who stake on many automakers.

In particular, Volvo is going to stop producing cars with internal combustion engines and completely switch to electric vehicles and a hybrid already in 2019.

Earlier, plans to stop selling cars with gasoline and diesel engines by 2040 were announced by the Minister of Ecological Transition of France Nicolas Hulot. At the same time, in the first half of 2017, 95% of the cars registered in France worked on gasoline and diesel.
