Microsoft in cooperation with Johnson Controls has developed a "smart" thermostat called GLAS. The main features of the gadget are a control system with a translucent touch screen and full integration with Microsoft services.

As the operating system for GLAS stands Windows 10 IoT Core - a special version of the operating system, designed for low-demand devices and the "Internet of things".

In addition, the gadget supports work with the voice assistant Cortana and is equipped with a number of different sensors. With their help, GLAS determines whether there are people in the room and, depending on this, automatically adjusts the air temperature.

The thermostat is integrated with the Microsoft Azure cloud business platform. The creators position it as a solution for commercial use, the price has not yet been disclosed. Will the device become a free market, it is not known.
