Astrophysicist Mariusz Tarnopolsky from the Jagiellonian University (Poland) predicted the course of bitcoin at the beginning of 2018. A preprint of the relevant study is available in the edition of "Tapes. RU".

The author came to similar conclusions by computer simulating the dynamics of the bitcoin rate against the dollar using the Monte Carlo method with one hundred thousand realizations of the fractal Brownian motion.
