Technologies used in smartphone building are developing so rapidly that it is probably close to the time when even the most conservative manufacturers will present flagships for two or even three times a year. But what will those smartphones be? AndroidInsider. Ru publishes a compilation of five technologies that are waiting for us in smartphones of the future.
Flexible Screen.
Despite the fact that the advantages of such screens over conventional ones are still rather unclear, many manufacturers are already working on their creation. Samsung, for example, managed to demonstrate a prototype of the proprietary AMOLED-matrix, capable of literally bending without any damage to itself, and LG at one time even managed to release two generations of smartphones G Flex.
Display fingerprint scanner.
Going to screens without frames forces smartphone manufacturers to look for new methods for placing fingerprint sensors. Some, like the same Samsung, just carry the biometric sensor back, while others, wanting to make a real revolution, are waiting for the appearance of appropriate technologies.
Optical zoom.
Optical zoom technology - a new trend, with a light feed Apple captures the minds of competing manufacturers. It was the iPhone 7 Plus that became the first smartphone capable of approximating the frame due to the installed optics. Its success was tried by the engineers of OnePlus, who, however, failed to realize the technology to the fullest. However, not far off are those times when optical zoom in smartphones will reach a new level.
Augmented Reality.
Her perspective was appreciated last year, when Niantic released a cult mobile game Pokemon Go. The ingenious development, which was not distinguished by advanced graphics or performance, simply used the main camera of the smartphone, drawing with its help a virtual world and displaying it on the screen.
It turns out that the scope of this technology is much wider than we thought.
Face Scanner.
A three-dimensional sensor that identifies a user on the protrusions on the face has the full right to become the successor of fingerprint sensors. Such a scanner is able to recognize at times more fixed points than the Touch ID, and therefore it will not be easy to deceive it. But this is in theory. In practice, as we found out earlier, the technology is far from perfect and reacts even to photography.
