The macOS software platform contains many useful features that most users do not even suspect. They allow you to quickly learn lyrics, use a preview for documents and images and much more. Some of these features appeared in OS X Mavericks, but they are all available in macOS Sierra and macOS High Sierra.
View the lyrics in iTunes.
Users who subscribe to Apple Music can watch the lyrics in iTunes. To do this, press the button with the image of the list that is to the right of the track being played. In addition to the playlist and already listened to songs there will be a tab "Text".
Two ways to activate Do Not Disturb.
You can activate the Do Not Disturb mode in two ways. In the Control Center, you can make a swipe down, so that the toggle switch "Do Not Disturb" appears. The second option: click on the Notification Center icon in the top line, while holding down the Option key.
Uninstalling applications from Launchpad.
Launchpad displays all applications installed on the computer. It turns out that they can be deleted as easily as from the home screen iOS. To do this, hold down the Option key so that the applications go into editing mode and do not start to wiggle. Next to the icons will appear crosses for removal.
Sending notifications about reading messages.
In macOS, you can enable or disable notifications about reading messages for a specific user. To do this, go to the "Messages" and in the chat window click on the "Details" button next to the user name. Here you need to put or uncheck the box next to "Send a read report".
Filter unread messages.
In the "Mail" application you can filter unread messages. On the top panel there is a button with an inverted triangle in the circle. After clicking on it, only unread messages will be displayed in the program.
Bonus: quick viewing of documents and images.
The Finder has a preview function. Just click on the file once, and then click on the "Spacebar". This allows you to view a document or an image without opening it in the corresponding application.
