Not so long ago there were rumors according to which Nokia plans to use Xiaomi Surge S1 processor in some of its smartphones. The news turned out to be interesting, but it's not all yet. Nokia and Xiaomi recently announced their willingness to work together in the areas of virtual reality and augmented reality. In addition, the companies entered into a strategic agreement for the licensing of patents.
It is worth noting that earlier Xiaomi company entered into a patent agreement with Microsoft, and also acquired a package of patents from the company. Nokia has a huge number of patents for technologies related to the standards of communication GSM and WLAN, most of which was obtained as a result of the merger with Alcatel Lucent.
Agreements with these two companies will help Xiaomi enter new markets for the company with its mass of products, including the Surge S1 processor.
Of course, the real reasons for concluding a deal are not known to us, and we do not know which patents the agreement was entered into. We only know that companies plan to work together in the future on network equipment, the Internet of things, virtual reality, augmented reality and artificial intelligence. The result of teamwork can turn out to be extremely interesting.
