Huawei is one step closer to the deployment of mobile fifth generation networks (5G). In partnership with NTT DoCoMo, the technology of millimeter wave 39 GHz was successfully demonstrated on the basis of the existing agreements on the New Radio standard (NR), developed by 3GPP for 5G networks.
It is reported that the cell coverage area within the experiment was 2 kilometers with a gigabit throughput per user in the millimeter range. On the basis of this system, a tripartite 4K-videoconference was organized in real time.
For the tests, one of the districts of Yokohama in Japan was chosen. The test system consisted of one base station operating in the 39 GHz band with a bandwidth of 1.4 GHz and two subscriber terminals.
During the experiment, it was possible to show a peak throughput of 1.3 Gbit / s for one user in the high-frequency range at a distance of 1.5 km.
At the same time, the advanced technologies of 5G.
"Successful operational tests of the 39 GHz band have made an important contribution to the development of 5G technology and they provide the foundation for testing and deploying 5G networks around the world," states Huawei.
It should be added that in November 2016, during testing in Yokohama, it was possible to achieve a total user throughput of 11.29 Gbps and a one-way delay of user data of less than 0.5 milliseconds.
