Market experts forecast Gigabyte's annual revenue growth in the second quarter of 2017 amid increased demand for graphics cards, DigiTimes reports citing a publication in the Chinese-language edition of the Commercial Times.

In April-June, sales from Gigabyte Technology, which specializes in the production of laptops and computer components, such as motherboards and video cards, are expected in the range of 12 to 13 billion Taiwan dollars (400.8-434.2 million American). This is slightly less than in the previous quarter, but more than a year ago. Among the positive factors for Gigabyte, experts refer to the improvement of exchange rates and the high demand for graphic cards from those who are engaged in mining - the production of crypto currency.

At the same time, the company itself is not in a hurry with optimistic forecasts due to the decline in sales of motherboards, which was a consequence of the decreased demand in the Chinese PC market.

In this situation, graphics adapters have become a support for the Taiwanese vendor: it is expected that in the current quarter the deliveries of Gigabyte video cards will reach 850 thousand units.

The company believes that the deficit of these components will continue until July, but a strong rise is not predicted. The current forecast Gigabyte provides that in the third quarter, its video card shipments will remain at the same level as in the previous quarter, or increase by 10%.
