The Czech Court of Appeals on Tuesday lifted the ban of the lower court for the Uber Taxi service in Brno, the second largest city in the country.

The regional court ruled to ban Uber's activities in Brno in April of this year after a complaint from LIDO TAXI RADIO was received, which was later supported by the City Hall, which indicated that the service should comply with local laws for taxi service, including licensing drivers and installing taximeters.

"We rejected the injunction and returned the case to a lower authority," said Supreme Court representative Vladimir Lichnovsky today, adding that Uber will be able to start work after receiving a judicial verdict in writing.

The Uber service, which began operations in Europe more than five years ago, is being attacked by taxi companies in a number of countries in the European Union, as it is not connected with local licensing and security rules that apply to some of its competitors.
