The founder of Telegram Pavel Durov agreed to provide data for the messenger in the register of information disseminators in Russia. He informed about this on the page in "VKontakte".

According to Durov, the reason was the statement of the head of Roskomnadzor Alexander Zharov, who noted that he does not claim to have access to user correspondence, and urged the Telegram administration to enforce the law - to provide information about the company to the supervisory authority.

He specified that the messenger's registration data is available to every user of the network in open sources. "If this is really limited by the regulator's desire, I have no objection to using this data to register Telegram Messenger LLP in the register of information dissemination organizers," stated the founder of Telegram.

At the same time, Durov added that the company would not implement the "unconstitutional and technically unrealizable" "Yarovoi law", as well as other "incompatible with the protection of privacy" laws. Nevertheless, he stressed that within the framework of work with Roskomnadzor Telegram guarantees the same level of cooperation as demonstrated by the messenger team in other countries.
