Criminals through the forbidden Internet resource sold non-existent goods

The cyber police in Kherson region established: a 28-year-old man who was in prison, organized a scheme of illegal enrichment, using the Internet resource "vk. Com ». This is reported by the PIC with reference to the Department of Cyber ??Police of the National Police of Ukraine.

Through the Internet resource people were "selling" non-existent goods. In early 2017, the criminal was released. He attracted two more friends to the "work". They created several accounts in the social network and sold thus non-existent goods. Payment was made through payment cards, issued for frontmen.

Losses from criminal activities are estimated at about 350 thousand hryvnia, more than 100 citizens were injured. Documented the activities of the criminal group and carried out operational activities of the police for 5 months.

On June 20, searches were conducted. Police seized money, bank cards, computer equipment, mobile terminals.

After a computer-technical examination, the issue of declaring suspicion to all participants of a criminal group.



A pre-trial investigation is continuing. 3 items. 190 (fraud) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The sanction of the article provides for punishment in the form of imprisonment for up to eight years. The police continue to investigate the identity of citizens who may have suffered as a result of the criminal activities of scammers.

Operatives of cyberpolicy remind citizens that one should be cautious when making any purchases on the Internet, so as not to become a victim of scammers.
