For the reported three-month period ended May 5, 2017, Dell's revenue was $ 17.8 billion, up 46% from a year earlier. Net loss jumped by 226% to $ 1.4 billion, operating loss increased by 979%, reaching $ 1.5 billion.
The Client Solutions Group, responsible for Dell's computer business, showed a 6 percent increase in revenue year-on-year to $ 9.1 billion. Operating income increased by 4% to $ 374 million.
In its financial report Dell cites IDC analysts' data, according to which the company's share in the world PC and monitor markets is growing 17 quarters in a row.
In the last quarter, Dell increased shipments of desktops and laptops by 6.2%, and also retained the first place in the volume of computer monitors.
In the division Infrastructure Solutions Group recorded quarterly revenue of $ 6.9 billion. About $ 3.2 billion of this amount was spent on sales of servers and network equipment, the implementation of storage systems amounted to $ 3.7 billion.
