According to the tradition established by Taiwanese companies, the manufacturer of smartphones and other electronics HTC reported revenue from last month. HTC's sales in May 2017 were almost 4% lower than in April, and on an annual basis, the decline reached 33%. In addition, the May result of 4.53 billion Taiwan dollars (150.6 million US dollars) became the lowest indicator of the company for the past 14 months, reports DigiTimes.

Since early 2017, consolidated revenue of HTC amounted to 23.78 billion Taiwan dollars (about 790 million American). This is 13% less than a year ago.

The company expects that starting from June 2017 onwards, sales will begin to grow against the background of increasing volumes of smartphone shipments, including the recently introduced flagship model HTC U11. This edition was informed by industry sources.

It is also noted that HTC's revenue growth could be helped by the improvement in demand for its virtual reality devices HTC Vive, which is expected in connection with Apple's recent announcement. During the WWDC 2017 conference, an American company reported that its new MacOS High Sierra operating system supports SteamVR and other leading VR platforms, including HTC Vive.

According to IDC, in the first quarter of 2017, HTC delivered more than 190 thousand VR-devices, taking into account that its share in the market of such gadgets was 8%. The Taiwanese vendor ranks third among the leading manufacturers of VR-systems, behind Samsung and Sony.
