The construction of Apple Park is almost finished, and the new Apple campus is already available for some employees of the company. At the moment, the most active work is on the territory around the campus. This territory should be planted 9000 trees. This work takes place under the guidance of the chief forestry Apple Park David Muffley, who recently gave an interview for Backchannel.

In his interview, Muffley spoke about his meeting with Apple founder Steve Jobs. Jobs noticed his work, strolling around a huge satellite dish on the Stanford campus. Along the path were planted hundreds of oaks. Jobs forced the human resources department of Apple to find the person responsible for planting these trees. So he met David Muffley.

Muffley and Jobs met in 2010, and in 2011, Muffley was promoted to senior forestry officer at Apple. They say that they quickly found a common language during the meeting, and Jobs told about plans to open Apple Park seven years later. He wanted to create a corner of the old Silicon Valley, from the time when there were more fruit trees than engineers. Muffley and Jobs were on the same wave, and the forester was imbued with the plans of the technician.

There was a huge amount of work. It's about a building that could become as important for California as the pyramids for Egypt. In addition, the campus is of great importance for the environment and the protection of nature. This part fell on the shoulders of David Muffley. About 5 thousand people worked on the building. It was up to the trees to work only for Muffley and his friends.

In order to make Jobs's vision a reality, Muffley had to start working with The Olin Studio, a landscape architecture company in Philadelphia. The company agreed that the territory of Apple Park should be planted with trees that can bloom in conditions of possible drought caused by climate change.

Then it is necessary to diversify the planted trees with their relatives for this locality.

In addition, in order to achieve results in 9,000 planted trees, Muffley had to purchase trees on two abandoned farms in the Mojave Desert, Hermo and Adelanto. The need for Apple in trees has even been able to create a shortage of trees for other companies. All because of Jobs's special love for trees and the desire of David Muffley to embody the ideas of the founder of Apple in life.
