US President Donald Trump has not yet made a final decision on the Paris Climate Agreement, but is inclined to withdraw from it. One of those who persuade the country's leader to refrain from this decision - the head of Apple Tim Cook.

During the election campaign, Donald Trump threatened the US withdrawal from the Paris agreement, despite the difficulties that such a step would create in relations with its allies. Barack Obama considered the agreement one of his main achievements in the field of foreign policy. The "Clean Energy" plan, adopted by Trump's predecessor, was part of a joint commitment made by the largest producers of greenhouse gases.

According to the document, the US - the world's second largest source of greenhouse gas emissions - undertakes to reduce their volume by 20% by 20% compared to 2005.

To denounce the agreement Trump pushed by many conservative organizations, the Ministry of Environment and Chief Strategy Officer of the White House Stephen Bannon. In his opinion, the fulfillment of the terms of the Paris agreement is incompatible with the president's promise to increase the number of jobs in industry.

The opposite opinion is shared by the State Department, as well as daughter and adviser to the president Ivanka Trump. They are supported by the former vice-president Al Gore, Pope Francis, leaders of a number of leading corporations such as Tesla and ExxonMobil. Apple also does not intend to abandon the confrontation with climate change, although now it will have less hope for a new US administration.

190 countries signed the Paris agreement on climate, one hundred and forty-seven, which account for 80% of global carbon dioxide emissions, have ratified the document to date. Among the unsigned, only two countries - Nicaragua and Syria.

Donald Trump is considered an ardent opponent of the theory of global warming and calls it "Chinese fake". During the pre-election campaign, he stressed that he intended to review the conditions for US participation in the Paris Agreement.
