One anti-virus software is no longer enough for companies. They need artificial intelligence, analytics and other technologies to withstand modern cyber threats, says Ryan O'Leary, vice president of the Threat Research Center at WhiteHat Security.

"Antivirus is good for blocking known threats, but the problem has gone beyond viruses. Malicious programs and vulnerabilities in the network or application can lead to a more serious malfunction than before, "O'Leary said..

ComputerWorld reviewers compare the antivirus to protect corporate systems from malware with a flu vaccine that can not protect against all types of this disease. The problem is complicated by the fact that new cyber threats are created faster than antivirus protection.

"The market must recognize that using antivirus and firewall by default make us vulnerable to threats," says Ryan O'Leary.. "Companies need to be more integrated in their security program and start looking for applications, networks and viruses that can damage the entire company".
