At the upcoming annual conference for developers WWDC 2017, which will be held in early June in San Jose, Apple can provide updated versions of laptops. This was reported by Bloomberg referring to sources close to the company. In Cupertino are preparing three new models of laptops: MacBook Pro based on Intel Kaby Lake processors, an updated 12-inch MacBook, and 13-inch MacBook Air with a new processor.

Updates will affect only the hardware of laptops - their external appearance will remain the same. That is, significant changes should not be expected. MacBook and MacBook Air certainly need an update, given that they last received updates in 2016 and 2015 respectively.

Sources say that Apple decided to refresh the series of notebooks MacBook due to the decline in sales of the iPad, as well as the emergence of serious competitors such as Surface Laptop from Microsoft.

According to the results of the first quarter of 2017, Apple took the fifth place in sales of notebooks. Specialists noted the success of the latest version of the MacBook Pro with touch panel Touch Bar, which was presented in October last year. In many ways, thanks to this model, in January-March Apple delivered 3.4 million MacBooks, which is 15.4% more than a year ago.

The leader in terms of supply in the past quarter was HP, shipped 8.62 million laptops. Also in the top five are Lenovo (8 million), Dell (5.4 million) and ASUS (3.65 million).
