In 2015, Sir Jonathan Ive received the position of Apple's design director and became the third person in the company. Today, the top manager was appointed Honorary Rector of the Royal College of Art (Royal College of Art, RCA).

Chief designer and one of the key people in the history of Apple will take office in July 2017 and will replace the rector of the British engineer Sir James Dyson - the inventor of a cylindrical vacuum cleaner and hand drying. Ive will preside over the meetings and help manage the school.

Royal College of Art was founded in 1837 in London. The educational institution was recognized as the world's best institute of art and design in 2017 according to QS. College has signed a contract with Ivan for 5 years. The employment of Apple's top manager does not imply the existence of wages.

"I am very pleased to officially formalize my relationship with the Royal College of Arts, given its influence on many artists and designers that I admire," said Jonathan Ive.

In 2005, The Sunday Times named Jonathan Aiv as one of the most influential Britons of our time as the person who designed the iPod. In turn, The Daily Telegraph in 2008 named Aiv the most influential British in the United States.

In the homeland, the merits of Jonathan Aiv were acknowledged not only by journalists - in 2005 the designer became the commander of the British Empire, and in 2012 - the knight-commander, which allowed him to add to his name the prefix "sir".

Jonathan Ive today is one of the most influential designers of the world. As well as the third person in seniority in the leadership of Apple, just behind the CEO Tim Cook and the financial director of the company Luca Maestri.
