Recently, Jimmy Iowin, responsible for the development of streaming service Apple Music, told Music World Worldwide why music should be paid.

The spread of free music has flourished since the first days of the Internet, from file-sharing peer-to-peer services like Napster and LimeWire to platforms such as YouTube and Spotify. Iowin believes that this is wrong, since musicians must receive money for their work.

He acknowledged that free music is "so technically good" that many people simply do not want to pay. According to him, if the Apple Music service offered a free subscription, like Spotify, it would have 400 million users.

According to Jimmy Iowin, Apple is committed to making sure that people who subscribe to Apple Music feel special.

The company plans to add original content to the service, in particular Carpool Karaoke, Vital Signs, Planet of Apps, as well as a documentary with Harry Stiles.

The service already had exclusive contracts with such popular artists as Chance the Rapper, Drake, Frank Ocean and Taylor Swift. Iowin promised that Apple Music subscribers are waiting for many more exclusive releases in the future. Although, as he noted, it's not like the labels.

Jimmy Iowin added that Apple Music is "at the forefront of popular culture," as he has repeatedly stated in an interview.
