The woman believed that her card was blocked and told scammers secret passwords

Thanks to the powerful information work among the population on the prevention of fraud, many residents do not go on about the scam. But scammers do not stand still and come up with new schemes for cheating. Losing vigilance 38-year-old woman lost 6 thousand hryvnia.

The victim told that she received a message on her phone that her bank card was blocked. The message also indicated the phone number on which he needs to call to unlock the account. Slightly hesitant, the woman called back. The interlocutor introduced himself as an employee of the bank and confirmed that the card was indeed blocked, but there are no grounds for panic, and asked for secret card data.

The woman did not immediately believe the man, telling him that he knew about such schemes of fraud, because no data will not be reported. However, the man was persistent and said that now it will take several minutes to unblock the card, and in the bank branch she will spend several hours.

After hesitating, the victim reported all the information requested by the "bank employee". And when she hung up, she received a message that from her account all means had been withdrawn.



The woman realized that she had become a victim of scammers and turned to police officers.

This fact was included in the Single Register of Pre-trial Investigations on the grounds of a criminal offense. 1 st. 190 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine "Fraud".

The police once again urges citizens to be vigilant. Under no pretext, do not share your bank card details, secret passwords and codes. Even if you are referred to as your personal data. Scammers go to various tricks to find out secret data on the card account.
