Volvo and Google announced a partnership agreement, which will develop a new generation of information and entertainment platform with communication functions.

Companies aim to bring people to cars to a completely new level. We are talking about the introduction of new solutions for so-called connected machines - vehicles with the ability to exchange data via mobile networks.

The new onboard computer complex will rely on the Android operating system. It is reported that users will have access to a wide range of diverse applications and services. At the same time, as noted, the widespread use of Android will accelerate the development and increase the flexibility of future solutions for connected cars.

"Communication in the car is something that Volvo has been working on for many years.

In the 80's and early 90's we offered built-in telephones, and then the time came when in the standard we equipped cars with Bluetooth technology. We have always well understood that our goal is to make the life of people on the trip easier while ensuring safety and minimizing the factors distracting the driver's attention, "says the Swedish concern.

It is expected that the new information and entertainment system based on Android will debut on Volvo cars within the next two years.
