At the developers' conference for Build 2017, Microsoft announced plans for the future and announced the next major update to the Windows 10 operating system. During the discussion of priorities representatives of the Redmond Corporation told that they intend to bet on the speed and smoothness of the proprietary browser Edge. Users have repeatedly noted that when opening and closing tabs sometimes there is a slight delay. Microsoft intends to solve this problem, and at the same time improve the experience of using Edge as a whole.

In addition to improving productivity, Microsoft also plans to redesign Edge using the new graphic style Fluent Design System. When you click on objects and during Web surfing, users will see new animations. Some changes are shown in the official clip dedicated to the new design:.

Microsoft also announced progressive Web applications for Edge. This term was invented by the Google engineer Alex Russell, and the progressive web programs themselves are already available in Chrome. These are special sites, outwardly and functionally reminiscent of full-fledged applications. It is expected that in the future, users can reduce the number of installed programs on their devices, using instead of them progressive web applications.
