Earlier this year, Sony introduced a pair of flagship smartphones Xperia XZ Premium and Xperia XZS. They use the latest 19-megapixel Exmor RS sensor with an improved G Lens lens with a f / 2.0 aperture. This camera has five-axis optical stabilization, predictive hybrid autofocus and a number of other technologies. The manufacturer claims that Xperia XZ Premium and Xperia XZS focus 50% faster, and the resolution of the resulting images has grown by 25%, not to mention the increased realism of color rendering and reduced lighting.
But the main feature of the new camera was the ability to shoot slow motion video at a frequency of 960 frames per second. In the new video Sony demonstrated the work of this function.
Sony asked director Chris Cairns to shoot a short film using Xperia XZ Premium to demonstrate the capabilities of his camera.
Note that Sony's smartphones are the first and so far the only ones that can shoot video with such a high frame rate. Competitors can record video at a maximum of 240 frames per second.
