At a conference for developers of Build 2017, Microsoft paid much attention to the technologies of mixed reality. Earlier this year, Acer, Dell, HP, 3Glasses and others announced low-cost mixed-reality Windows Mixed Reality headsets combining AR and VR. Now, Microsoft announced when and at what price it is worth waiting for these devices. In addition, Microsoft announced proprietary controllers for mixed reality.

The new controllers from Microsoft are very similar to those offered by HTC and Oculus with their virtual reality helmets. With their help, users will be able to interact with virtual objects and draw. At the latter, Microsoft places a special emphasis on positioning controllers as tools for creativity.

It's important to note that Windows Mixed Reality headsets do not use separate sensors to track human movements and controllers, as implemented in HTC Vive and Oculus Rift. Thus, users will not need to customize their room for immersion in virtual reality.

Unfortunately, Microsoft did not say anything about the cost of the new controllers, but at the end of this summer, VR headsets from Acer and HP will go on sale for $ 299 and $ 329, respectively.. Headset from Acer complete with a pair of controllers will cost $ 399.
