Apple explodes, but it can be

The next iPhone 7 exploded in the hands of a happy user while he was about to answer the call. However, unlike Samsung, Apple does not rush to recall its smartphones and the blasts of apple gadgets do not affect the image of the brand. What is the fundamental difference between the iPhone 7, which can explode, and Galaxy Note 7, which can not be exploded at all?.

The latest incident with the iPhone 7 occurred in the UK. A resident of the city, 42-year-old Lee Hayes, said that he bought a smartphone just three days ago, the device exploded right in his hands. And the device collapsed at a time when the Brit wanted to answer the call. At the same time, the iPhone issued a loud clap and damaged the owner's fingers.

Two weeks earlier, a similar case was recorded in China. In late April, a resident of China told about the explosion of the iPhone 7 Plus. The incident occurred at night, so that the Chinese woman was fast asleep, and the smartphone lay a few centimeters from her head. According to her, the device was purchased in March this year and was charged only by the official adapter.

Why do regular news about iPhone failures not force Apple to announce some critical shortcomings of the device and recall all already sold phones for repair or replacement of some elements?.

First, with comparable sales volumes (in fact, Apple sold more iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus), news about iPhone breakdowns still come much less often, and these breakdowns do not look so dramatic. If the photos with burned Note 7 at one time literally flooded the Network, then the pictures of burnt or suddenly exploded iPhone 7 almost never occur. Accordingly, at times less and the media effect of this news.

Secondly, Note 7 exploded all over the planet and, quite significantly, exploded in Europe and the US. And here it is worth remembering the humorous map of the reaction of the public to the catastrophe in this or that part of the world. There, I recall, cataclysms or terrorist attacks in Europe and the United States are estimated as a terrible tragedy for the whole world, and the tsunami that would wash away the whole country in Asia will be estimated as follows: "Well, unfortunately, it happens". Similar is true for smartphones. If the iPhone 7 exploded in the hands of an American schoolboy, we would have already sat and watched with a dozen talk shows, in which this very terrible phenomenon of phone attacks per person would be discussed. Some leader of opinions would write an appeal full of pathos and tears to Apple and call it an open letter.

Finally, in the third, but not least, one more nuance is important. Currently, Apple in China is going through hard times. The state is not too supportive of the American manufacturer. Some categories of citizens even tried to prohibit buying new iPhones almost by directive. At the same time, I remind you that the real owners of the world smartphone market (by volume of production, not by money) are Chinese companies such as Lenovo, ZTE, Huawei, Xiaomi and a whole handful of smaller (on the Chinese scale) manufacturers. For them, any incident with the new competitor's smartphone is the manna of heaven. So do not exclude the fact that the incidents with the iPhone 7 can be staged or unwound intentionally, because of what, and in Apple do not consider these incidents as an identified design flaw and do not organize a worldwide phone review.

Perhaps in the near future, Apple will conduct an analysis of incoming emergency smartphones and reveal some unexpected details, for example, attempts to interfere with the operation of the gadget or use of non-standard chargers that can damage the phone. In any case, the news about emergency situations with the iPhone 7 is ten times less than the news about Note 7, while the iPhone 7 was sold many times more, so in percentage terms the number of accidents is still too low for smartphones from Cupertino Waiting for the fate of gadgets from Seoul.
