Apple acquired the manufacturer of devices and software to track sleep Beddit. The first about the deal was reported by CNBC, later an official confirmation appeared on the company's website.

Beddit warned that after the transaction personal data of users of its devices will be collected and used in accordance with Apple's rules. The companies did not disclose details of the transaction.

The Finnish company Beddit was founded in 2007 and raised about $ 3.5 million. The company develops applications and devices that monitor the user's sleep. In particular, its last product, Beddit 3, is a thin tape of sensors that are placed in bed and fixes the duration and quality of sleep, pulse, breathing, temperature, sleeper movements, snoring, temperature and humidity in the room. The cost of the device is about $ 150.



Beddit products will help Apple improve the Health app and provide device users with more data about sleep. Analysts do not exclude that the changes in the software will not stop. Developers Apple can expand the capabilities of smart watches Apple Watch, in which there may be new sensors and opportunities to monitor the quality of sleep.

About the first results of the joint work of Apple and Beddit, we may already know on June 5 at the presentation of iOS 11 and watchOS 4 in the framework of WWDC 17.
